Tips for Beautiful Skin on Your Wedding Day

Every bride wants to look beautiful and radiant on her wedding day. Just as you are busy planning the minute details of your wedding, from the perfect flowers to the elegant dress, be sure to spend some time to take care of your skin. The skin requires time for regeneration and cell growth, so do not expect to go for a facial the week before and hope your skin glows on your wedding day. No! You have to start on a facial beauty regime well before. This article contains some tips you can try out - today!

Facial Cleansing

You should always cleanse your face before going to bed so as to remove any dirt you would have picked up during the day. Your face gets exposed to the sun, bacteria-ridden air particles, pollution, and the wind during the day. The effects on your skin may not be visible to the naked eye, but it is there nonetheless. Also after a long day at work, all the responsibilities and stress of the day will take its toll on your skin with the formation of lines and wrinkles, if you do not do something to relax and ease the tensions of the day. Going to a spa for a facial every now and then, is a good thing to do. But too often, women either choose not to spend the money to pamper themselves, do it too infrequently, or cannot afford to do it as often as they would like. Therefore, it is important to find the time daily to de-stress by doing a "mini" facial at home by yourself.

Unwind Routine

You should always spend a few minutes before sleeping with an "unwind" routine. Nighttime is the right time to apply any face treatment, so that is when you should do your "unwind" routine. Light a scented candle, or burn aromatherapy oils that will help you relax. Start with a cleanser, then apply a moisturiser gently on your face with soft circular motions, massaging your facial skin as you do so. This helps stimulate circulation and cell growth. The skin repairs itself at night by replacing dead skin cells with fresh new ones. Making sure your skin absorbs enough nutrients during the night is vital. It will revitalize your facial skin and works wonders on skin that has been exposed to all the dirt and grime of the daytime. You should also apply the treatment to your arms and neck area.

Nourish Your Skin From Within

Applying external creams is always good. But it is also important to nourish the skin from within. Ginger tea is often given to clients at spas after facials and body massages. You can prepare your own ginger tea at home, and have some after your facial cleansing and moisturising treatment. It refreshes you from within. Ginger tea has a spicy and invigorating taste. It is also useful as it has healing properties; it can act as a remedy for indigestion, nausea, and to ward off colds, flu, and sore throats.

Ginger Tea Recipe

Water, 4 cups
2-inch piece of fresh ginger root
optional: honey and lemon slice

Peel the ginger root and slice it into thin slices. Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Once it is boiling, add the ginger. Cover it and reduce to a simmer for 15-20 minutes. Strain the tea. Add honey and lemon to taste.

You can also add black, or green tea to the above, if you so desire.
