Fanstastic Wedding Hairstyles for Your Wedding

Many Indian brides do their hair in a traditional bun for their formal wedding ceremonies. These days, however, young brides who are influenced by television and fashion magazines, are getting more bold experimenting with different wedding day hairstyles.

Traditional Indian Wedding Bun Hairstyle

Ok, before I show the fresh looks I have found. Here is the traditional indian wedding bun. It is massive, isn't it? I wonder if only real hair was used for this hairdo. Some women can pull it off well like the one in the photo, but I somehow find this look much too reminiscent of school-marms or school librarians to appreciate it much. It tends to make a young woman look older.

Now onto the series of fantastic wedding hairstyles I have come across. Hopefully, you will be inspired by these ideas so you can incorporate them into your own wedding!

Unique Take on the Traditional Updo Hairstyle

The hair is curled and then pinned up showing the magnificent curls. This is a cool way of keeping your hair up, but more fashionable than the traditional tight bun. You can cover your hair with the dupatta (head scarf or veil) during your wedding ceremony, then remove the dupatta for the events afterwards.

This is also an elegant look for your formal wedding dinner.

This wedding hairstyle will work best with medium length hair. If your hair is long and thick, the curls may not keep in place, so a different hairstyle would be more appropriate.

Spanish Updo Wedding Hairstyle

This one is suitable for those with long and thick hair. Part of the hair is done up, with elaborate curls, and sometimes accessorized with flower crowns, crystals, or bows. The other part of the hair is left loose to flow down the back.

Wedding Hairstyle Bun on the Side

Instead of doing a tight bun high on your head, you can opt to do this style. The hair is combed straight, and then pulled into a low poufed up hair bun onto one side. This is a fresh and elegant look that you should consider going for especially if you have well-defined cheekbones and prominent eyes.

Bohemian Wedding Hairstyle

Best with long flowing hair, either straight or curly. This is a simple, fresh look suitable for outdoor or garden wedding ceremonies. You can accessorize with flower crowns, jewels, or simple veil. You can also wear this style for indoor wedding ceremonies. Katie Holmes pulled off this look very well at her wedding to Tom Cruise!

Bye Bye Botox for Bride and Her Bridesmaids

Brides, Bridesmaid and Botox

I read an interesting article on the New York Times a few days ago. Today, more women are getting married at a later age. Women who are just starting to notice the first wrinkles on their face, or stretch marks. In the NYT article, there were several brides planning their weddings in their thirties. In addition to wedding planning from the wedding gown to the caterers, brides are also planning to rejuvenate their skin, and even the skin of their bridesmaids! Bridal parties are indulging in dermal fillers, botox, tooth-whitening and other cosmetic procedures months before the Big Wedding Day.

That's all great - I have no problem with cosmetic enhancements. But if there was a way to avoid injections to improve the condition of your skin, I'd go for it. Wouldn't you?

That's why I was excited when I read about this product called StriVectin SD that can actually reduce the appearance of wrinkles, stretch marks and crow's feet.

It works in 28 days with regular appplication, three times daily for the body and twice daily for the face. The components of the product have been through clinical trials documenting their ability to visibly reduce the appearance of existing stretch marks (prominent because of their depth, length, discoloration and texture).

StriVection SD eye cream helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and dark circles around the eyes. The product also includes additional soothing agents for the delicate skin around the eyes, with the same functional compound as the original StriVection SD, but without the aromatic oils.

Now you do not have to worry about getting older because there is something better than Botox to help you get rid of your wrinkles!

Get that Radiant, Fresh Look on Your Wedding Day

Wedding Beauty Techniques

It would be nice to be able to afford to go for a daily facial at the spa, but that is only a luxury a few of us can do. For the rest of us, it is important to make time to do it ourselves at home. Not doing so will result in sallow skin over time, and that is not advisable if you'd want to look great on your wedding day! Do a facial massage for yourself at least three to four times a week. You will see the difference over time.

Here is a technique for a facial massage that you can do yourself at home. Do this after you cleanse your skin.

Facial massages are believed to ease the muscle tension in the face and improve blood circulation. The following are some tips on how to give yourself a facial massage.

1. Get yourself a facial massage oil that is suitable for your skin type. Half (2.5 ml) to one teaspoon (5 ml) of oil should be enough for a 5-minute facial massage.

2. Start at the base of your throat, and use gentle upward and outward strokes to progressly slide movements along your jawline to the base of your ears. Then use circular motions with your fingertips over your cheeks and ears and around your lips.

3. Next, lightly tap around the eyes with your fingertips. Start at the outer edge and work inwards.

4. Starting at the center of your forehead, use upward strokes to work your way outward with each hand, ending with circular strokes over your temples.

5. Repeat this procedure up to 5 times. There is no need to rinse your face, as the massage oil should be left to completely absorb into your skin.

Choosing the Right Flowers for Your Wedding

Tips for Beautiful Skin on Your Wedding Day

Every bride wants to look beautiful and radiant on her wedding day. Just as you are busy planning the minute details of your wedding, from the perfect flowers to the elegant dress, be sure to spend some time to take care of your skin. The skin requires time for regeneration and cell growth, so do not expect to go for a facial the week before and hope your skin glows on your wedding day. No! You have to start on a facial beauty regime well before. This article contains some tips you can try out - today!

Facial Cleansing

You should always cleanse your face before going to bed so as to remove any dirt you would have picked up during the day. Your face gets exposed to the sun, bacteria-ridden air particles, pollution, and the wind during the day. The effects on your skin may not be visible to the naked eye, but it is there nonetheless. Also after a long day at work, all the responsibilities and stress of the day will take its toll on your skin with the formation of lines and wrinkles, if you do not do something to relax and ease the tensions of the day. Going to a spa for a facial every now and then, is a good thing to do. But too often, women either choose not to spend the money to pamper themselves, do it too infrequently, or cannot afford to do it as often as they would like. Therefore, it is important to find the time daily to de-stress by doing a "mini" facial at home by yourself.

Unwind Routine

You should always spend a few minutes before sleeping with an "unwind" routine. Nighttime is the right time to apply any face treatment, so that is when you should do your "unwind" routine. Light a scented candle, or burn aromatherapy oils that will help you relax. Start with a cleanser, then apply a moisturiser gently on your face with soft circular motions, massaging your facial skin as you do so. This helps stimulate circulation and cell growth. The skin repairs itself at night by replacing dead skin cells with fresh new ones. Making sure your skin absorbs enough nutrients during the night is vital. It will revitalize your facial skin and works wonders on skin that has been exposed to all the dirt and grime of the daytime. You should also apply the treatment to your arms and neck area.

Nourish Your Skin From Within

Applying external creams is always good. But it is also important to nourish the skin from within. Ginger tea is often given to clients at spas after facials and body massages. You can prepare your own ginger tea at home, and have some after your facial cleansing and moisturising treatment. It refreshes you from within. Ginger tea has a spicy and invigorating taste. It is also useful as it has healing properties; it can act as a remedy for indigestion, nausea, and to ward off colds, flu, and sore throats.

Ginger Tea Recipe

Water, 4 cups
2-inch piece of fresh ginger root
optional: honey and lemon slice

Peel the ginger root and slice it into thin slices. Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Once it is boiling, add the ginger. Cover it and reduce to a simmer for 15-20 minutes. Strain the tea. Add honey and lemon to taste.

You can also add black, or green tea to the above, if you so desire.
